Sexually transmitted disease (STD) treatment is the use of medical or surgical methods to suppress or cure the infection. Bacterial, protozoal, fungal, and parasitic infections are cured with antimicrobials. Some viral infections are suppressed by antivirals, while others are cured by surgical means.
