| _STOOL-AMOEBA | This test is to detect the presence of amoeba especially Entamoeba histolytica, the aetiological agent of amoebiasis. The laboratory depends on detecting the mobile amoeba in the stool sample to make the diagnosis. As such the stool sample must be fresh and the test done immediately. The test must be done on the stool sample within one hour of passing.
Therefore the stool sample must be brought in by the patient or special arrangement be made with us to collect the sample within the time limit. The test will be done immediately on arrival at the laboratory. |
