Excessive body weight is associated with various diseases, particularly hypertension, heart disease, stroke, diabetes mellitus type 2, obstructive sleep apnoea, osteoarthritis, and certain types of cancer. As a result, suffering and a reduced life expectancy.
Body mass index (BMI) is a useful tool to estimate a healthy body weight.
BMI = weight (kg) / height2 (m2)
For asians,
- optimal weight is a BMI between 18.5 and 22.9,
- overweight is a BMI between 23 and 29.9, and
- obesity for all groups is a BMI of 30 or more.
Reducing weight and maintaining it within the optimal range, is likely to reduce the extent of these associated diseases, or even cure them.
We have a weight management program that involves dietary modification, an exercise regimen, and if required, a variety of medication, which may include Sibutramine (Reductil®, Reduxade®, Ectiva®, Slenfig®)

We do not prescribe or stock Phentermine (Duromine® / Panbesy® / Ionamin®), as it is not part of our weight management program.
