Description

In cases of condom failure, for example: no condom, condom broke, or condom slipped, then unprotected sex occurs. This is unsafe sex.

One then runs the risk of being infected with STD (sexually transmitted disease) and HIV, and females could also become pregnant.

The first 72 hours are the most critical. In this time, medical measures may be taken to prevent the transmission of HIV, by doing HIV PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis/prevention) treatment.
